About Waboos

Connecting travelers with Indigenous-owned businesses across Canada. Economic reconciliation starts with where you spend your money.

Our Story

Waboos is an Indigenous-owned platform from Garden River First Nation, Ontario. We built Waboos to support Indigenous economic sovereignty by connecting travelers with Indigenous-owned businesses across Canada. From shops and restaurants to accommodations and cultural experiences, Waboos makes it easy to discover the incredible range of Indigenous entrepreneurship thriving in every province and territory.

Our Mission

Economic reconciliation through technology. We're making it easy to discover, support, and connect with Indigenous entrepreneurs across Canada.

We believe every dollar spent at an Indigenous business is an act of reconciliation. Don't just talk about “Reconciliation”—support Indigenous-owned businesses.

Why Waboos?

The name comes from “Waabooz” (Ojibwe for rabbit) — a symbol of resourcefulness and community in Anishinaabe culture. Like the rabbit, we're nimble, community-minded, and always moving forward.

The Team

Founded by Indigenous entrepreneurs who saw a gap: there was no easy way for people to find and support Indigenous-owned businesses. Waboos changes that. We're a small, dedicated team building technology that serves our communities and creates real economic impact.

Join us in building a stronger Indigenous economy

Whether you're a traveler looking to support Indigenous businesses or an entrepreneur ready to grow, Waboos is for you.
